Kevin Keyes joined IAALS in July 2014 as Project Manager for Educating Tomorrow’s Lawyers. His primary responsibility is the Foundations for Practice national survey, a project to determine the skills today’s law school graduates need in order to have successful legal careers.
Before coming to IAALS, Keyes worked for LexisNexis as a Law School Library Account Manager and Digital Library Specialist, with responsibility for half of the nation’s law schools. Previously, he worked as the Law School Publishing Representative for the Western U.S., where he promoted published materials in print and digital formats, and received feedback from professors on the types of teaching materials needed for today’s law students. While at LexisNexis, he was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2011, and the Circle of Excellence in 2013.
He received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009, where he was on the ABA Trial Team, a research assistant for Professor Sheila Hyatt’s Colorado Evidence Treatise (2008), a teaching assistant for Criminal Law, Marketing Director for the Student Trial Lawyer’s Association, and a DU Law School Student Ambassador. He received the award for “Outstanding Graduating Student” and the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Practice.
Keyes is on the Alumni Council for DU Law School, the Board of Directors for The Edge Theater in Lakewood, and he has been an active member of Metro Volunteer Lawyers – Family Law Court Program, having completed over 50 pro bono hours each year since law school graduation.
