Indiana Chief Justice To Step Down
Blog PostRandall Shepard, currently the longest-serving state chief justice, announced his intention to retire as of March 2012. The judicial nominating commission will screen applicants to fill the supreme court vacancy and send three names to Governor Daniels. The commission will also select the next chief justice.

Tenn. Supreme Court adopts new ethics rules for judges
Blog PostThe supreme court amended the code of judicial conduct to bar elected judges from hearing cases when a litigant, lawyer, or law firm involved in the case “has made contributions or given such support to the judge’s campaign that the judge’s impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”
